July 26th

Nymph here! Reporting that yesterday was pretty uneventful... I went to work at 1 and stayed trapped behind a register for four hours. I saw a little boy knock over an entire display on purpose, talked to a woman about adopting and watched my manager try to jump someone else's car. At about the end of my shift, my manager took me into her office to give me a 90 day review. I was initially scared, but all she did was give me a glowing review! She said I had so many of the systems down by now and they were impressed! I scored nothing lower than "Good" on a scale of Excellent to Unsatisfactory, and she said it wasn't even really my 90 days, it was more my 60 days review and I already had all the departments pretty well down. It was really nice to hear that. When I asked for a copy, she teased me and said it better not be to apply for somewhere else because she didn't want to lose me :) Also, the sheet thing I referenced in my last post was taken care of. I just apologized and explained I hadn't known what to do with the sheets and she totally understood. I certainly don't dislike my job :)

After that, I invited Atlantean over, whom had had a day off. He had helped his dad in the yard, read comics and tried to get together with friends but somehow still felt like he had done nothing today. It's kind of nice to see him like work and find purpose in it, considering we both like gender roles and he'll be the one to work. Then we headed to Spider-Man Homecoming which is AWESOME, BTW. But on our way home, we got a call from the twins, Bugbear and Mermaid. They said they're car wasn't working, so we went over and tried to jump it. The picture is Bugbear on the hood of our van, Fairy Queen (my mom) walking in the back, Mermaid on the dead car, and my beloved Atlantean. 😍

Centaur (my dad) waited for the car people and the rest of us went home where I had a good talk with Atlantean of some minor issues in our relationship.

Excited for what's to come!

July 25th

So after a morning of yoga and scripture reading (not my usual schedule - I swear, but I thought I'd try it this morning) I realized I probably should relate the accounts of yesterday!! :D

Nymph here - reporting on a BUSY day! My family and I woke up early in the morning to drive out to Park City to meet up with some cousins who are not commonly around, but were spending their time while they were here in Park City! As par our usual quota - we made a movie! It's been about three or four years in a row now that all of us cousins have made a movie of my creation. This year it was one called the Sadsquatch about a lonely Sasquatch that was somehow really hard to find, but was always right in front of your face. My sister played the sasquatch and was so funny that I literally could not watch the camera for fear of ruining the shot with my laughter. I really hope they turned out well. 😅 I spent a long time last night preparing everything, which was basically finalizing everything considering I had written the script at work a few days prior in between customers. I made some cue cards, gathered the props and put together our shortest film yet. :) I hope to keep making movies. Thankfully - Atlantean was able to join us so it's his first time starring in one of our family movies! Almost like he's officially part of the family now as the cousins and my siblings like him so much. :)

Here's a shot from the opening scene of the film, which I accidentally snapped when I thought it was going to record...

Our sasquatch is hidden right behind my cousin in the blazer's head. She's supposed to appear when Atlantean gives her the cue from behind me. He's reading the script while my brother and cousin roll the cue cards for our two news casters.

After that, we went swimming, headed over to a chocolate factory in Park City where my sister bought me a root bear float and then we headed home at which we dropped Atlantean off directly at work and then my siblings and I went to work an hour later. I got off the latest that night and headed over to our friends house for the end of a barbecue that I barely didn't miss. They waited to set off the fireworks til I got there, which was kind of them, and Atlantean carried me inside cuz I told him about the mistake I'd made that day at work and was feeling kind of bleh. I had been told to iron some sheets and I thought it ridiculous considering we were just going to shove them back in the package, so I basically didn't do it, and only realized, TEN MINUTES before closing that it was actually for a display and needed to be out and ready by tomorrow.  I felt foolish and like I had let one of my favorite managers down.

The firework show that night was incredible! My dad had purchased over 600$ worth of fireworks in Wyoming for only 200$ due to a killer deal, and we set off some of the fanciest fireworks we have ever had before, with fountains and aerials galore. Unfortunately, the wind started picking up and rain splattered down in great big drops, so we set off our second to biggest one, which was epic and nearly blew up in mine and a couple of girls faces. But we sheltered inside to wait for it to die down to set off our biggest one. When it did die down, we took it all the way across the street on the school yard to set it off and we still had to look straight up to see them go off because of the strong wind pushing them towards us. It was pretty cool. Atlantean went to his car to grab his giant coat and protect us with it like a bomb shelter incase anything else happened crazy. It was also just raining like mad.

After we got back home, Atlantean and I just said a quick farewell because we were both exhausted and I sent him home so we both could crash. He's so good to me.

Excited for what's to come!

July 8th

So today's been fun! Whoot!
It has been RIDICULOUSLY hot where we live and we all feel like we're melting. Blegh. I couldn't even go out to the car with barefeet without doing something resembling a potty - dance to keep my feet from burning.

But today I really have gotten some things done today! I woke up to go spend a morning with the in-laws at the Scottish Festival. Unfortunately, I also wanted to bring a friend I haven't seen in a while and ended up spending most of the day with her... I really want to get to know my soon-to-be-in-laws, I swear! Just ...I hadn't seen her in a while and she's so much fun to be around :) I really like Atlantean's sister. We watched caber tossing and explored booths full of plaid, leather and fur, and saw so many kilts!! Then we got jipped by a vendor and I ended up having to pay for my friends meal (to make a long story short) But anyway, I got to relive my old USU memories with my friend and spend a morning bonding (hopefully) with the in-laws. It was a lesson in futility to look at all the things and say to myself, "I can't buy any..." #budgetstightforweddingnight

Later, I came home and rushed a doll to a friend's house. One of my visiting teachers, actually. She is always asking what she can do to help me prepare for our wedding and I finally just asked if she could make a tiny wedding dress for a figurine that we will be using at the wedding. She was thrilled to do it! And when my brother and I walked over to give her the figurine, she sat us down and showed us patterns she had been playing with and fabric squatches she had acquired and was so happy about being able to help out! I'm really grateful for that :) There was also a very friendly dog who howls when she's not given attention and won't eat her treats unless someone is watching her lol.

Atlantean's been working all day, so I figured I'd get some more things done, so after a long pit stop at my brother's leader's house (those old guys sure can talk, lol. After a bit of just chatting, we were soon on top of his roof looking at solar panels, and no idea how we'd gotten there) So I started calling my friend who works at Men's Wearhouse to get her discount on the groomsmen ties. I had seen some earlier that I liked. But after looking around at cheaper places at the mall and then trying a Men's Wearhouse near us, we realized it wasn't exactly on budget to buy all of the men with meaning in our lives a 65$ tie... So I found one online for 10$. Winner, winner, bigger wedding dinner! XD

Here were some of the options I was looking at:

Now I'm home making a frame for my friend who recently got dumped by a guy who really hurt and duped her. Rude bum. He asked her to come a long distance for him and then cut it off a week before the trip. So now she's already paid for the ticket and is going to Washington to visit grandparents and have a healing trip, which I think is good for her. :( I'm making the frame out of spoons from a place she and I frequently go and I drew the letters of her name in calligraphy on them. I hope she'll like it.

And tonight is a Shakespearean dance that we might be walking away from with sets of Shakespearean clothes! Also - Atlantean has agreed to go! Poor boi has been working all day. 😞 But I'm proud of him. And hope I don't spend too much money so that it will all pay off!

Excited for what's to come!

Opening (July 7th)

Welcome one and welcome all
To the blog I will keeping up until atleast this fall!
When me and the love of my life
Will then become husband and wife!

Hi and sorry for the cheesy poetry, I've just been stewing about this idea for just about FOREVER. Oh, the getting married thing? No, just the blog idea. :D (and by forever - I mean a whole three days since the idea struck me)

My name is Nymph and this is Atlantean, and we are getting married November 18th!

Here's the catch, or atleast the one thing that is notably odd about our relationship.
I stand at a proud 5'5"
And Atlantean stands at 6' 7"!!
So I am indeed marrying a giant! Almost 14 inches taller than me!
This is just a blog for keeping up with the Kardashians as they say! I hopefully will be posting enough for my and your blogging satisfaction (and if for nothing else - for my own sanity)

See you all next time! :D
