February 22nd

It's becoming a semester of Zumba and Simpsons! (Not that I'm in school...)
I kind of just want to go over the projects I'm working on because I'm kinda pumped!

First off - my D&D campaign. I am thinking of starting a separate page on here because I (and Atlantean appears to share the same sentiment) would love to actually record/keep each session, because as they say, the boys really do seem to like them and I agree that it would be a waste to lose all of this. I am finding a lot about myself in the course of creating a campaign. It is a very fitting, comfortable and enjoyable writing style for me and I'm really having a lot of fun. I'm currently working on an episode that makes me kind of nervous, since I think it has no combat and is merely interactive storytelling, but I'm trying to make it work. Excited for what's to come in this development.

Secondly - I'm trying to write a Who's Most Likely To game. I saw one at Barnes & Noble and I thought it would be a fun idea, but the more I got exposed to the cards (I didn't buy it - just through research) I just didn't like how they painted so many bad things as funny things, and of course there were inappropriate ones. (Yes, I am an inner Christian Mom) So I decided to try and set out and create my own and so far it's not going to shabbily. Some of my favorites are:
Whos' Most Likely To:
Accidentally pet a small animal a little too hard
Go to class, not listen to a word, and ace it anyway
Forget to log off a public computer
Lie down in the snow to make a snow angel, and instantly regret it
Make everyone a cup of hot cocoa even when they didn't ask for any
Name their child a street name because they thought it sounded cool
Not swing a left turn when they totally could've made it
Have huge unrealistic dreams about their future home
Admire a cool -looking rock
Have a crush on a teacher
Tackle hug an old relative

Apparently my brother Wolfman is also creating a game, and he wants us to play test it, and I'm super proud of him! I like watching my siblings/family start on an endeavor because they're passionate about it. It looks kind of intimidating, but I've been reading the rules and I wanna do this for him.

Thirdly - I'm trying to create an (rudimentary) escape room for my siblings birthday par my mother's request. We recently went to one as a family for my mom's birthday, and it was really cool (Asylum at Castle of Chaos - highly recommend! They're also looking for volunteers to run it which intrigues me) So far I have a general idea, and while it's nothing fancy, it's just going to require yarn and weights essentially. Excited to see where that goes.

Fourthly - recently was reading a book called Farm Sanctuary Life because farm life intrigues me. It was pushing a very vegetarian agenda, but I decided to hear him out because I liked the stories about the animals. I started to like the idea of merely trying to eat more veggies. So Atlantean and I made a goal to spend 40$ at the grocery store solely on fruits and veggies. Then I was prompted by the spirit to look up cookbooks with the word meatless and I literally found a cookbook called Meatless by Martha Stewart Living that I really like. The next time we went to Barnes &Noble, I looked for it in the cookbook section and Atlantean agreed that it wouldn't come out of my fun money. So I am going to attempt to cook at least one vegetarian meal every week, probably at the beginning of the week. I am grateful for this opportunity to start doing this since I am already starting to learn to cook, and I've been losing weight because of this and other choices. :) Good to start early I think :)

And lastly - I want to throw hoedowns. The Farm Sanctuary Life book mentioned that they threw hoedowns at Farm Sanctuary, and that suddenly intrigued me. It dawned on me that a lady in our co-op, had always loved the Renaissance time period, with Jane Austen and Shakespeare. It was her passion, and because she had been rather wealthy, she had hosted classes, conventions, dances and parties themed around this time period. She loved it. And I realized (though I can't literally compare) that this time period, of western, pioneer times, really enthralls me. I love how people were people and they worked together with the little they had, had useful skills and worked hard their entire lives, and I would love to throw pioneer based parties, if possible. So I'm planning out what I would do if I had the opportunity in my soul (a notebook I use to write down all of my ideas) And you know what the weirdest thing is? When I told my mom, she related it to past experiences she'd had of people throwing hoedowns and she realized something - that the people who had thrown them had been Atlantean's extended/distant family! I had married into the right family!

(Also did I mention I'm transposing/writing a musical?)

Alright, gotta get to creating some D&D NPCs that are as complex as the adventurers themselves. Wish me luck.
