So a LOT has changed! We are right in the middle of limbo and a big transistion phase for mainly Atlantean and let me explain!
We have recently started so many new things! Namely, the two biggest ones are Atlantean's last semester of school (Hallelujah!) and his new job! Yes! A new job! We applied for a welding job online and it wasn't even twelve hours before they contacted him back about the job! He went in for the interview, even impressed one of the testers there and they hired him on the spot! I am officially married to a welder as of Monday, January 7th! He hasn't yet gone in to officially work since they require him to have steel-toed shoes/boots and it took us a while to find them and then order them in. We've also been trying to call them back now that the shoes are on their way, but we don't know if they'll let him come in before they come. So he's been sitting at home for the last three days waiting for them to get back to him (maybe not the best strategy, but we feel fine about it, and hey - the chores are getting done ;) )
Other than that, BECAUSE of this new job, Atlantean had to move his classes to night classes, once a week, one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday. One of them is Communications, and the other is Business, which I also want to do with him and am asking him to ask the teacher if I can just sit in on, which I think is highly unlikely but I have to give it a shot don't I?? When he told me the activities that accompany the class, like interviewing a boss or employee of a job that you want. Atlantean would naturally need (maybe even want) to do a welder, but I would love to hunt down people who have made simulations their lifestyle! I would interview Victor Williamson (if I could even get a hold of the man, the myth, the legendary creator of Space Camp!) and other people who have made escape rooms and Live Action Role Plays their livelihood! What a cool opportunity would that be??
So even though the chance is extremely slim, I still hope the teacher will consider it and we won't have to pay the audit fee. I miss academics and classes and taking them with him might be very cool :)
On top of all that - we also have other things involved in our life - with D&D on Fridays, our new Self-Reliance class on Saturday mornings, our game nights we are trying to put together on Sunday afternoons along with eating dinner with the families and church and choir, and then new job and work for the both of us! Not to mention that we are auditioning for a play tonight AND I'm trying to work with Spriggan to transpose our musical AND I'm trying to read and watch media before it's due at the library. (Okay, maybe that last one was a little anticlimactic) But still! We are getting busy! And last night my mom said that it is usually that way with spouses, or it's atleast better that way - that when one of them gets busy, the other stays grounded to support the other. I guess it's my turn to stay grounded this semester. Just gotta tell myself it'll be worth it - which it will be.
Tonight Atlantean and I are trying out for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I'll be singing All For You from Seussical and he'll be singing It's A Brand New Day from Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I'm semi-nervous and excited! And I can't wait to be in a play again and I hope it all works out!
I have also been trying to expose Steven to Studio C and Rhett and Link, two videos every night (admittedly only for two nights so far, but I've just been remembering some good ones that I want to show him, ya know?) I also watched Juno one night when he was gone because I've kind of gone on a rampage of checking out DVDS from the library. And I loved it so much that I showed it to my family! The beginning can be a little crude, but I remember it as a film from my Coming of Age film class back at USU and I wanted to check it out, and now I want to own it. Atlantean got really involved, which is usually his way with live-action films
Also, every night Atlantean and I romp around on our bed for ten minutes, trying to soften it up. We crawl and walk and sing as we do and we look kinda silly, but it's what our mattress people said to do to soften it up. While it has been helping - it's exhausting!
And! our packages with our games came! I have bought my first ever real game! in a box with figurines and everything! It's called Mysterium and I might've mentioned it on this blog before, but I'm not certain. I played it with Brownie at a Ladies Night at Game Haven, in fact it was the only reason I invited her to the game night, was to play the game and figure out how it was played, and then I bought it because I enjoyed it so much! I played it twice with my family yester-night and last night I dreamed about it all night long! I was the ghost of course, and figuring out the visions is my favorite part!!
Anyway, life is good, but we're still barely reaching that point in life where you're feet hit the ground from when you jumped oh-so high.
Wish us luck!
