What HASN'T been going on today? Let me talk about my day currently!
Things have changed in my current work schedule, but I work over at the CAB West building in the mornings now. Different location, different time, same job. Though completely different people. I swear this building is SO much more laid back and relaxed and kind. Anything I need, I get. I'll give you a for instance for this morning.
I got here (admittedly, a little late. Still getting used to the waking up and the driving time) and the phones were already ringing OFF the hook, and I'd been here long enough to know what that meant. Some kind of bomb or shooting threat, (most of them never credible) but I had to pick a call up (cuz that's my job!) and tell them that I didn't have info yet and that I was opening my email as we spoke. I hadn't even clocked in yet. Thankfully, the lady on the other line was an administrative assistant from a school that just wanted more info to tell parents, so I got lucky that way. So I found the email and so began my day, repeating the same thing over and over. It was a wake up! But then I got a Spanish speaker, and in my home building at CAB East, I know who to send those to, but here in CAB West, I'm not sure. So I walked into the nearest department and asked who the Spanish speakers were as my phone was ringing off the hook, and we took a while trying to find someone, and after a fruitless guessing game, I had to run back to the phones to take care of as many as I could. But after a couple minutes, apparently they had still been thinking about me, because one of them came out and directly walked me to the back to meet with and discuss the situation with a Spanish Speaker that I could send it to! They had STILL been thinking of me!
On top of that, the front doors weren't opening. I'm really glad they worked for me. I couldn't get too involved because I was taking all the calls.
That was my morning! Also, I got restless overloaded and half asleep last night with thoughts of D&D because Atlantean finally designed my villain and Atlantean said, "If they don't run from this, I don't know what will make them." I'm excited to have a villain that's actually scary, but whether or not to use him is the fun decision...
Tonight is my last D&D until I have to wait another month. I have been rather proud. Atlantean has confessed he wants to continue with my campaign over Aos Si's, and one of the other guild members is sick and is going to miss tonight and he confessed he was upset and was gonna miss it too. It's really cool to have people care about a campaign like mine!
Also I wrote a song for my play! I wrote a whole song! And while it's simple, it's mine and it's cool to think that while it's not my strong suit, I CAN do this!
It's called Faster. Faster in Sedna, Goddess of the Sea, was written by MWAH.
I want to talk about a day I had recently that was pretty productive! Atlantean went off in the morning to go watch a movie with Troll (Battle Angel Alita) and Sylph came over to give me some of the soap we had made and we split up the rest among the other three girls who helped. Then Sylph and I went over to IFA because they were having IFA customer days, which in the past has been pretty simply, just a barbecue out on the dock, but with the new store, they really upped the ante! They not only had meat, but they had different kinds of hot dogs, potato salad, chips and water! They had sales everywhere, baby goats for petting and display and K9 dogs doing cool tricks and showing off their training. Then we met Atlantean down at Game Haven to celebrate Ravnica Weekend (Sylph is still with us BTW) and we got to play a three hour long D&D game where we each got to play guilds from Ravnica (Orzhov forever!! It's a really mean miserly money-loving guild and I'm proud of us) But in the end, adorable soft spoken Sylph sabotaged the whole game and stole the objective and sold it off at a higher price! The end!
It was a cool day.

February 14th
Happy Valentines Day! Boy did I get a lot done this morning!
We finally got our car back! We are still waiting on a piece to arrive so that we can have a working coolant gauge and keep an eye on it, but we can drive it for now, and Atlantean did this morning to work which MEANS that I have a car!!!
So this morning I had to get up at 6:20 (!!!) to go to a dentist appointment at 7:00 AM. It was surprisingly not that hard. Probably because I have a lot of extra sleep under my belt. Poor Atlantean.
The lady who was my dentist was actually also a victim of PCOS and we talked about that! She gave me her number! Super nice and hope-inducing!
Then I got home and had to start on some Lesser Mac And Cheese that I had promised for my work's party, so I got going on that cuz I wanted to be prepared and not scrambling last minute. So I watched a little 3rd Rock while I waited for it to cook and made some phone calls. I found out JoAnns could only make in-store special orders, so I would have to go to the store.
So, once the mac and cheese was out of the oven, I grabbed my keys and drove over. The suede I had been looking at for Atlantean's surprise birthday present (a fur collared cape!!) had gone down from it's sale price to an even LOWER price. So I pounced and bought four yards. So let me do some calculations. I paid 50$ for what I would have had to pay 120$! (Triumphant laughter)
Afterward, I went back home and called Game Haven, who said they were looking for DMs and would let me do it! So they're supposedly sending me the campaign.
Then I did the dishes! Woot! Woot! Successful morning!
I just feel like I have so many stokes in the fire that I'm excited about! In order to get free shipping for my fabric, I have it coming on the company truck which will be here in two weeks. I have Atlantean's valentine present coming late (Feb. 21st, it's the Fellowship of the Rings, extended edition with Appendices), I have a play I am currently trying to write music for and am starting to churn in my head regarding props and timing for auditions, rehearsals and performances. I also contacted Midvale Arts to ask what it would cost and how to rent out the performing arts building, so I'm waiting on that response. I have some big stuff coming up on my own D&D campaign, not to mention this Game Haven one I might be sent and be running by Saturday (wow!) and THEN I have ESL training/orientation in March, so wow!
Last night we got to go grocery shopping (we've been going over budget almost every time now. I really need to stop that. I've been trying to also look into a better diet for PCOS, but it looks BLAND)
And then Atlantean accidentally helped me guess what his Valentines Gift to me was, and then he got so excited that he had to show me. It's a manta ray chime! A brown handmade one! My chime for the year! Yay!
Also, I have to talk about this awesome thing that's happening with Atlantean's family. We went over to their house for dinner like we do on almost every Sunday, and I found out (I have no idea how it started) But that Atlantean's two brothers, Aos Si and (name...) Cylcops (his other brother) and Cyclop's wife had been both using an app called Duolingo to learn Spanish .Turns out so had Jinn! I wanted in! So I downloaded the app and friended them all! Now you have to keep up a streak and I'm currently ALMOST catching up to Cyclops. It's fun, competitive and educational and no offense, but I wasn't expecting something like this from Atlantean's family, they're so laid back. I'm also dabbling in Hungarian (for Wolfman on his mission) and Japanese, because I took a semester, but I forgot it. I thought it would be fun. But it's really Spanish I'm pounding away at. I think it's so cool and almost an answered prayer! I hope it helps when I try to work at ESL! Also trying to plan a camping trip in Antelope Island. I love being busy!
Jinn showed me some free software called Noteflight that helps anyone write music. I also began writing down the melody for a song I wanted one of my song writers to work on but then I just started taking off with it and suffice to say I think I've finally written my very first (semi) complete song for one of my own musicals! It's called Faster and it's intense but simple. I'm actually pretty proud of it.
Jinn and Troll saw our car troubles and offered to make us dinner every Wednesday night, which is super nice. I don't know if it's totally necessary, but we'll accept their hospitality for now :) They're such nice people. I'm almost sad to tell them we're moving out in September, but if we can't have a baby then we definetly need to do something else, cuz I ain't sitting around for years. It's weird. I don't think I've ever had to wait this long to do something I want. Because I wanna go back to school for English Technical Writing. Basically, an editing degree, and if we don't, god willing, get pregnant, that's the plan.
AND on Sunday the 10th, we started driving back from Atlantean's family and we got caught in a HORRIBLE snow storm. It was so bad that we stopped at my parents house and just stayed there for the night. It was actually really cool. I got a dose of my old family life, the hustle and the bustle and the constant activity made me inspired and it was like coming back to a mansion I was so familiar with. It was a well needed feeling. It made me remember what my background was and how I'd been raised and how I wanted a home to feel. I got to hang out with Gnome because he stayed home because of a sick day and I showed him all my piano pieces I had written (and could remember) from when I was younger. Then Mermaid and I watched the beginning of a funny Netflix reality show about people who do cat grooming and cat shows for a (serious) hobby.
The night before actually, before Atlantean and I had gone to bed, I went up to talk to Mermaid because she had texted me saying there was something she needed to ask me in person. So I went up to go ask her about it and we ended up talking for nearly two hours and she finally told me all the details between her and Vampire that she had waited a long time to tell me. My goal was not to cry because lately I've become pretty willing that I don't have to cry at every little inconvenience. It sure would be nice to finally just take things with a good attitude and not break down every single time.
Anyway, I think that's enough for now! Gonna enjoy Red Lobster and Lego Movie 2 tonight with my hubby!

February 7th
Aaaaaw. I mean AAAAAAAW.
Some lady just came up to me and said, "By the way, everytime I come in here, your eyes are GORGEOUS. They are GORGEOUS."
Shocked, I thanked her! And then I said I don't get that all the time and she said on her way out,
"They just aren't saying it like I haven't been. I mean, with the dark hair. They really are." and she left!
And that really made my day because on top of two mean phone calls (one where a man was insisting his son be held back in preschool because he was too small, and another lady who actually got mad at me for not being able to UNBLOCK HER ROAD FROM THE SCHOOL TRAFFIC) and my boss mocking me (I don't do the morning shift often Harpy! I don't know what time the building actually opens!) I was having a less than optimal day. Not crummy persay, but I did have to call Atlantean to vent.
Wow! How refreshing and honest to get such a sincere compliment that just boosts ya! It just boosts ya! I wish I had the confidence to tell people how pretty they are. That was so nice... :)

ALSO we read my play with the Kepps and my family, and I invited a girl from my ward who had been in one of my plays previously that I was kind of nervous inviting but she was actually really helpful and I'm only saying this because this blog is private but I think I want her as my lead!!
And they really liked my play! They laughed and felt compassion towards the characters, they liked Aja's grumpiness and thought it was an important part of the play and the girl I invited actually said she almost cried during the dramatic scene I was most worried about. Now to work on the music! I have one PDF of a beautiful scripted piece one of my writers wrote me and two videos of a friend playing music that I have to decipher and add to again.
Tuesday we went over to play board games with another young married couple, which was equally as cool. Played Betrayal at the House on the Hill and got to see their interaction with their kid (plus they're pregnant and are just leaking the information to whoever asks. They're cool. It was cool. I made blondies and blanched on my no sugar rule when I did. Mistake.
Wednesday (yesterday) we went to Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder at Hale Center Theatre with two golden tickets we got (I hate to be selfish, but I get to go to Matilda with my family because Mermaid's date that she's leaving is afterward). It was hilarious!! Listened to the music again this morning.
Speaking of Wednesday, I received a text and call from Canyons School District and that morning was a crazy snow storm that canceled all of school and work! So we decided Atlantean shouldn't go either if school buses weren't, so we got a snow day and had dinner (Which we contributed a vegetable soup to) with Jinn, Troll and Unicorn.
Tonight I presumptuously have kickboxing and Atlantean is looking into swordfighting again tonight.
Friday we are going to Logan with our family to do an endowment for a dead relative that means a lot because he died young. I'm excited to be going back to Logan, but we have also heard a rumor that Atlantean's friend Dwarf might be getting married (discreetly?) tomorrow! Very fast, very soon, very unexpected! We didn't particularly like his girlfriend when we met her, but we have to support him and her in their choices because we love them. We're not really sure what's going on, but it looks like they are going to sneak down to just sign some documents and be married. Which will be unfortunate because we'll have to choose between them and Logan and that's difficult.
Also Elf seems to be proposing to his girlfriend soon too!! And a highschool friend is getting married in March. Lots of marriages!
Anyway. It's a good day. :)
